OnRoute is a short film explaining the concept of a new service that connects people through common needs and interests in the context of the city. Members gain Karma points by doing OnRoute jobs ‘on route’ to their destination (for example, on the way to work).

Teammates Alix and Mac got along very well during the video prototyping module at CIID. Sharing common interests and inspiration, they came up with a series of 3 movies, combining live footage and animation. Creating a unique visual universe, they explored various techniques across platforms - hand sketching scenarios, in camera editing, voice over work, sound mixing and more. Finally a desire to shoot, time and edit everything manually and stay away from the perceived "magic" of non-linear editing helped them learn the intricacies involved in storytelling, rhythm and timing. The learning of these skills turned out to create a fun and inspirational, yet efficient film-making process.
